OPTIMIZATION MODEL OF CHOOSING TECHNICAL MEANS OF CONTAINER TRANSPORTATIONS AND THEIR RATIONAL COMBINATION

Abstract

Purpose. Тo develop a methodology of using the mathematical model that presupposes an optimization procedure with the help of which effective types of technical means and their number and structure necessary for carrying out container transportations, including containers, to adjust the payload of containers, can be determined. Methodology. Тo select the rational type and parameters of the main technical means of the container transport system and their combinations (the structure of parks) a systematic approach is used; this approach is accompanied with complex technical and economic calculations. Results. The prerequisites for the formation and functioning of cost-effective container freight traffic in Ukraine using automobile transport are considered. The technical means of the container transport system are divided into six main types (elements), which form a single technical complex. At the specific calculations to determine the rational type and parameters of the containers, as well as the structure of their fleet for the cargo delivery, it should be taken into account whether the accepted type and structure of the container fleet correspond to the quantities of the required (ordered) delivery batches and to make the appropriate adjustment of the container payload values. Originality. A system of model limitations, taking into account the conditions of the container transportation process, is also distinguished. The criterion for the effectiveness of the choice variant (the criterion for the effectiveness of the selection (the objective function of the mathematical model) is the value of the aggregate reduced costs, with their minimization). Factors determining the specific reduced costs for the goods transportation with specified characteristics in containers with various parameters are pointed out. Practical value. For the illustration of the application of the proposed approach, the case of a mismatch between the type and structure of the container fleet to the ordered delivery lots by mass or volume was considered and technique for correcting the container payload was proposed.
