ORGANIZATIONAL AND ECONOMIC PECULIARITIES OF THE ECOSYSTEM SERVICES MARKET DEVELOPMENT IN FORESTRY

Abstract
Introduction. Successful development of the ecosystem services market in forestry, its scope and content depend on the state influence on the natural resource users for the purpose of compliance with environmental requirements. In this regard, the study of the nature and characteristics of ecosystem services market development in forestry are extremely important today. Methods. The author explores historical trends and opinions of famous scientists regarding the nature and characteristics of the ecosystem services market development in forestry. Results. The author has analyzed the nature of the ecosystem services market and determined its main functions. On the basis of the ecosystem services market characteristics, the author has found factors affecting demand and supply in the market. The author has identified features in formation of the ecosystem services market in forestry. The formation of carbon market as a combination of actual and potential buyers of permits on emissions of greenhouse gas, credits for reduction and absorption is investigated by the author. Discussion. The research on the ecosystem services market in forestry would identify promising areas of its development that would contribute not only to more comprehensive implementation of measures for environmental protection, but also introduction of economic mechanisms of sustainable forest management.
