MARKETING FIELD RESEARCH OF COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY OF FARMS

Abstract

Introduction. Reforms in Ukraine’s agrarian sphere of economy have resulted in appearance of various forms of economic entities basing on private ownership and principals of economic independence. One of the directions of the structure rebuilding of agriculture is forming private farms, which play a certain role in agribusiness and contribute in development of a competitive agrarian sector and agrarian production. The aim of the article is to analyze the results of a conducted straw poll of private farmers and reveal general tendencies determining farmers’ behavior as agricultural market participants. Methods. Standard methods such as dialectical, monographic, abstract and logical, method of scientific generalization as well specific methods for statistical and marketing information processing are applied. Results. The results of a straw poll of private farmers conducted in Vasylkivrskyi region of Kyiv oblast are presented in the article. Factors influencing entrepreneur activity of farmers are characterized. The barriers that prevent farming development in Ukraine are identified. Prospects of farming development are assessed. The measures for improvement of environmental conditions for commercial activity of private farmers which should be taken on micro and macro levels are identified. Discussion. The further researches are planned to be conducted concerning more active implementation of modern information technologies in commercial farm activities including development of electronic commerce as well applying efficient marketing sale strategies.
