ORGANIZATIONAL AND PEDAGOGICAL ASPECTS OF THE COOPERATION OF THE SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY NAMED AFTER TARAS SHEVCHENKO AND UKRAINIAN STUDENTS’ ORGANIZATIONS IN GALICIA (at the end of XIX – beginning of XX centuries)

Abstract
The article describes preconditions and process of formation, activity and interaction of Ukrainian student institutions, which became centers of scientific and social life of students of higher educational institutions, defended rights and freedoms, represented the interests of Ukrainian youth in front of the Austrian and Polish authorities in the territories of Galicia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the scope of research, the main archival sources of the State Archives of Lviv region, the Central Historical Archives of Ukraine, the city of Lviv and the scientific works of the investigated area were analyzed, which highlighted the influence and support of the Scientific Society on the process of formation of students’ institutions in the educational movement. The author investigates the organizational and pedagogical aspects of cooperation between the Shevchenko Scientific Society and numerous students’ associations (“Academic brotherhood”, “Vatra”, “Academic community”, “Basis”, “Academic help”) in Lviv in the context of the organization of Ukrainian student youth. Traced situation of the Academic House of the Scientific Society named after him. The author reveals the role of Shevchenko Scientific Society, as a student center, in the support and development of Ukrainian students. The article deals with the activities of Shevchenko Scientific Society in the organization of students’ readings, libraries, publication of scientific and literary works, arrangement of lectures, scientific circles, literary evenings, concerts, performances, scientific trips to the region, etc. The contribution of the Scientific Society to them is clarified. The article revealed the aid of the publishing bodies of the Scientific Society, concerning the coverage of the main areas of activity and development of students’ organizations, the role and interrelation of the members of the Scientific Society and organisations, contribution into activities of Ukrainian student initiatives. The author reviewed the characteristic correlation and interaction of studied the students’ societies and centers in the aspect of support of Ukrainian student youth and the development of the educational and educational sphere.
