ORIGIN OF THE TURCIC RUNIC WRITING (on the material of the tamga-marks)

Journal Title: Мова - Year 2014, Vol 0, Issue 22

Abstract

In this article the problem of origin of Old Turkic runic alphabet is studied. The author subjects to criticism two hypotheses of runes: 1) Phoenicia-Aramaic hypothesis, 2) Sogdian theory of Turkic runes’ origin. In this work the tamga (pictographic) theory is proved about the formation of the Old Turkic runic alphabet that was created on the base of tamga and tamga signs belonged to Turkic teips who inhabited in the Great Steppe at the boundary of two eras. Such a justification of tamga theory becomes possible due to archeological research on the territory of nomads in the Great Steppe. Results of simple (basic) and complex tamga-signs and tamga-character signs testify about formation of runic writing on the boundary of two centuries. In this article tamga signs come up with with maximum completeness, many scientists collected information during two centuries on all over Eurasia, beginning from the Great Yellow River on East till the centurial earth in Europe. The author determines four transitions in evolution of runic writing, future research in diachronically aspects is planed and it will have an opportunity to be free from nonscientific conclusions.
