ОСНОВНІ АСПЕКТИ СОЦІАЛЬНОЇ ПОЛІТИКИ ЄВРОПЕЙСЬКОГО СОЮЗУ

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the demonstration of the existing contemporary models of the welfare state and finding out typical peculiarities of the modern social state. It is well understood, that any state is social in a litteral sense, because it is established on the social basis. This term, however, is proposed exactly in order to underline that the state has a developed and stable economy, and thus it is able not only to declare but also to conduct an effective social policy. Despite the fact that today the concept of the “social state” is one of the most criticized, it still remains an effective institution of facing the social challenges. The article studies the process of transformation of the social state according to the new political and socio-economic conditions.
