Abstract
The article is devoted to the main problems of the legal regulation of the activity of the village, settlement head in the conditions of reforming the system of local self-government bodies. The article analyzes the legal status of the village, settlement head. The conclusion is made on the necessity of further legislative regulation of the activity of the village, settlement head by adopting the corresponding normative act, as well as expanding their powers on the ground.
