ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ФУНКЦІОНУВАННЯ ОФІЦІЙНИХ ГІППОНІМІВ НА ПОЗНАЧЕННЯ СКАКОВИХ КОНЕЙ

Abstract
A brand-new sphere of scientific research for onomastics was outlined in the present article. Nowadays there is a great need for special studies of the proper names of animals, which would help to systematize and expand the knowledge of zoomynic system. Horse names found in the official racehorse inventory are the object of the research. The subject of the research is their peculiarities with specific emphasis on their structure. The aim of the research is to determine the place of English hipponyms in the field of onomastics. It was set that it is impossible to study hipponyms excluding extralinguistic factors. Thus, the basic rules and restrictions of horse naming were outlined. As a result, eight grammatical forms of Racehorse Names were singled out and identified as most common. The findings of the present article allowed to clame the uniqueness of hipponyms, as in the investigated area we deal with the virtually unlimited system of horse names. To complete the research, descriptive and structural methods were used extensively. These methods allow describing structure of hipponyms. The results of the research are of value to further development and modernization of onomastics.
