Abstract
The article defines and analyzes the grounds and conditions of material liability of the employee for the damage caused to the employer by the current labor legislation of Ukraine, as well as comparison of certain norms with the draft Labor Code of Ukraine. The conclusion is based on the fact that some norms, in terms of the grounds and conditions of the employee’s material liability, are contradictory and new approaches to the definition of these norms are proposed.
