ОСОБЛИВОСТІ МЕТАБОЛІЗМУ КІСТКОВОЇ ТКАНИНИ У ПАЦІЄНТІВ ІЗ ХВОРОБОЮ ПАРКІНСОНА ТА СИСТЕМНИМ ОСТЕОПОРОЗОМ

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the bone metabolism peculiarities in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and osteoporosis. We performed a cross-sectional study of 34 patients with PD and 34 age-matched controls with primary osteoporosis. The diagnosis of osteoporosis in both groups was confirmed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. It was found that patients with PD had significantly lower serum vitamin D and phosphorus levelsthan that in controls. In the PD group bone formation (P1NP) and resorption (β-CTx) markers were in 2 and 1.7 times higher versus controls. Our findings support the hypothesis that low bone mineral density in patients with PD is the results of osteoporosis and osteomalacia.
