Journal Title: Спортивний вісник Придніпров'я - Year 2019, Vol 1, Issue 1

Abstract

Introduction and purpose of the study. The article is devoted to the problem of the psychophysical state of students who have witnessed or participated in hostilities. The destructive impact on the personality of the psychotraumatic factors of military operations in the East of Ukraine leads to the development of negative mental states, stress disorders, functional disorders of the body and deterioration of health. Issues of researching indicators of mental states, manifestations of signs of post-stroke disorders, physical health, active participation in sports and recreational activities of students affected during the antiterrorist operation and finding ways to improve the quality of physical education to improve their psychophysical status and adaptation to educational activities are updated. The hypothesis of the study is that the identification of indicators of the psychophysical state of students affected during the antiterrorist operation, their interest in physical education and health activities will determine the most effective means of physical culture and improve the quality of the process of physical education in higher education institutions. The goal is to determine the features of the psychophysical state of students affected during the antiterrorist operation. Materials and methods: analysis, synthesis and systematization of data from the scientific and methodological literature; sociological (questioning, polls) psychological testing (Self-assessment of mental states using the Eysenck method; questionnaire for the primary screening of post-traumatic stress disorder A.A. Blinov) physical health assessment using the G. Apanasenko method; methods of mathematical statistics. The study involved 60 students who suffered during the antiterrorist operation (internally displaced persons, children of participants in the antiterrorist operation, participants in the antiterrorist operation), who study in institutions of higher education of the city of Dnepr. Results. The article reveals the social status of students injured during the antiterrorist operation, identifies features of the mental state, the signs of post-traumatic stress disorder, the level of physical health and their participation in sports and recreational activities of higher education institutions. The data obtained indicate insufficient social protection of these students, the manifestation in them of individual signs of post-traumatic stress disorder, the presence of emotional stress, difficult adaptation to educational activities, anxiety, excitement, general emotional stress, isolation, social exclusion. A significant number of students have below average (42.7% of boys and 50% of girls) and low (22.5% of boys and 30% of girls) levels of physical health. We identified low interest in physical education and health activities (14% engaged in physical culture and sports) of students who were injured during an antiterrorist operation. Therefore, this category of students requires support from both the state and higher educational institutions, and especially the departments of physical education, attracting them to physical culture and sports, thereby increasing their adaptive capabilities and improving their psychophysical and emotional state. Findings. It was emphasized that a number of psychophysical problems among students affected by the hostilities indicates the need to create conditions for improving the quality of the process of physical education. The main means of physical education for improving the psychophysical state and adaptation to educational activities of students affected during the antiterrorist operation are team sports, physical activity under music and in water, jogging, interactive technologies, psychotechnical games and breathing exercises and mandatory monitoring and fixing your psychophysical condition in your health passport.
