OYKONIMS AS EXPLICATORS OF ANTHROPONYMICAL CODE

Abstract
The article dwells on the problem of studying the phenomena of onomastics from the view point of cultural studies. The object of the research is Boikivshchyna’s oykonyms, motivated by the native Slavic composite names. The subject of the research is oykonyms of Borislav, Dobromyl, Sambor, Svyatoslav, Tatomyr as identifiers of anthroponymic code. The purpose of the research is to describe the features of the Boikivshchyna oykonyms drawing from the source cultural information. In our studies we applied methods of observation, description, analysis, synthesis, comparison and more. The findings are as follows: the phenomenon of linguistic and cultural code was found, which outlines the concept anthroponymical code. It was proved that anthroponyms are among the most frequent cultural language signs, and hence, anthroponymic system of any language is a fundamental material for selfidentification of the nation, to understand the national psychology and even regional pecularities. An anthroponym depends on the cultural and social context of the era. Primarily, a name is a repository of cultural information which people formed under the influence of various factors, including extralinguistic ones. In addition, it is associated with the perception of the world and in some way reflects information about it. The results of the study can be used in linguistic and cultural studies and for the further study of the onomastic material.
