Pasja zapisana w literaturze. Gwatemalskie samoloty Andrzeja Bobkowskiego

Abstract
Andrzej Bobkowski was born in 1913 and emigrated to France in 1939. Just after the war – still in France - he started his career as a writer. He was among the first authors of a Polish monthly magazine „Culture” (Kultura) created by Jerzy Giedroyc in 1947. A year later Bobkowski left Europe to settle in Guatemala with his wife. In order to make a living he opened a „Hobby Shop” selling aeroplane models and also created an aeroclub for young people. He did it with passion and love. After his premature death in 1961, Józef Czapski wrote in „Kultura”: This „son of Conrad could prove an indispensable companion for many young Poles dreaming of adventure, of a life without surveillance, without forms of art ruined by the dictates of a decaying ideology, of a life by one’s own choice, responsible and full”. Text „Guatemalian aeroplanes of Andrzej Bobkowski” tells the story of life and passion for aeromodelism which was also present in his writing.
