Pathological profile of soft tissue tumours: - A descriptive study
Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Pathology - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 2
Abstract
Soft tissue Tumours are classified according to their histogenetic origin and within each group they are divided into benign lesions, intermediate lesions and sarcomas.1The grade of malignant Tumours is the single most established criteria inpredicting the biological behavior of these Tumours. The various parameters used in grading are cellularity, mitotic count, Tumour differentiation and necrosis. Immune status and reports of relevant investigations were recorded from the patients who presented with soft tissue mass or collected from medical records. After taking consent from the patient, fine needle aspiration cytology was done under aseptic precautions. On cytology, most frequently diagnosed soft tissue tumors were lipomatous tumors (76.7%, 606 cases) followed by spindle cell tumors (15.94%, 126 cases), fibrohistiocytic tumors (3.03%, 24 cases), vascular tumors (2.15%, 17 cases), myxoid tumors (1.13%, 9 cases), round cell tumors (0.63%, 5 cases), pleomorphic tumors (0.25%, 2 cases) and least was epithelioid tumors (0.12%, 1 case).

Role of fine needle aspiration cytology in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma
Aims and Objectives: 1) To study the cytologic features of Malignant Liver lesions. 2) To emphasize the utility of guided FNAC in the diagnosis of Malignancies of Liver. Fine needle aspiration biopsy first was used only...
Study of association between FBS, HbA1c level and lipid profile in type 2 diabetes mellitus
Background: Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease. Glycated haemoglobin is used as marker for long term glycemic control and there is also significant variation between HbA1c levels and LDL, HDL levels....
Pseudoepitheliomatous Hyperplasia of Oral Cavity - An Enigma
Background: Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia is a histopathological reaction pattern rather than a disease. It represents an extreme degree of acanthosis which histologically mimics squamous cell carcinoma especially in...
Primary cutaneous anaplastic large T cell lymphoma: Very unusual presentation
Background: The primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (C-ALCL) is a non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) of cutaneous T-cell presentation, without systemic involvement. It is common in the sixth decade of life and in ma...
Histopathological analysis of oral cavity and oropharyngeal neoplasms and role of P16 expression in oropharygeal cancers
Background: The incidence of oral cavity and oropharyngeal malignancies is very high in India due to the practice of chewing and smoking tobacco. HPV-associated oropharyngeal neoplasms are on the rise due to the changes...
