PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF STUDENTS IN THE MODERN UKRAINIAN SOCIETY

Abstract
We consider the need to strengthen patriotic education of students at the present stage of development of Ukrainian society. The latest normative and legal documents on patriotic education of youth in Ukraine, social studies data and international practices have been studied. The main directions of patriotic education in higher educational establishments have been analyzed. The author suggests the possible ways for their improvement and defines the role of the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences in the system of patriotic education.
