Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY JOURNAL "Web of Scholar" - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 3

Abstract

Chronic gastroduodenitis is a chronic inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum. Chronic gastroduodenitis has a wide prevalence, often accompanied by pain syndrome. Therefore, the change in the quality of life in chronic gastroduodenitis is relevant. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between chronic gastroduodenitis and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). The objects of the research were 13-17 years old children with chronic gastroduodenitis. We have analyzed changes of QL of patients with chronic gastroduodenitis before and after treatment by using of international questionnaires - PedsQL ™ 4.0, International Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) questionnaire, the GerQ and Soda questionnaires. In this prospective case-control study were included 62 patients. The control group formed practically healthy patients without chronic gastroduodenitis. 58.8 % of the patients assessed their severity of SODA questionnaires moderately, and GSRS - 60.7 %. The physician assessed the severity of the patient's condition moderate in 38.1 % cases. Parameters of quality of life of children with chronic gastroduodenitis were low, but they increased after treatment. GSRS questionnaire is the most informative for assessment the quality of life of 13-17 years aged children with chronic gastroduodenitis and the PedSQL questionnaire can be an additional criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment.
