Peculiarities of Lexical Level of Piedmont Dialect

Abstract
In the following article we disclose the matter of setting the lexical level of piedmont dialect and the interplay between it and literature language, peculiar differences in system of pronunciation, expressivity and imagery. Within centuries the language of the region has always been under strong influence of different outer factors, in particular historical circumstances and social situation of the region. The outstanding position of the dialect is caused by changes in the social life of the country. In past decades and centuries dialecticisms were treated as markers of social status of the speaker and were commonly associated with lower classes of society. Present situation shows changes in position of the dialect, the characteristic words of which are entering everyday life of all social classes. Due to modern constantly arising interest to ethnology and cultural studies the outstanding position of piedmont dialect attracts interest of linguists. The conditions of arising and fixation of the dialect as a local equivalent are analyzed; the results of researches, thematically connected are described. The connection of the language and its variation with the evolution of society and knowledge is described. The connections between the nationality and dialect are set.
