PEDAGOGICAL REFLECTION ON THE INTELLECTUAL CONDITION OF DIGITAL NATIVES

Abstract
The main research issue discussed in the article is the question whether the contemporary young generation is the most intelligent or the dullest generation in history. The answer, important to all educators, is neither simple nor unequivocal. Deliberations on the changes in the structure and functioning of the human brain are presented from the cultural, social and educational perspective, and - in a broader context - the intellectual condition of digital natives' representatives. The research findings of world-renowned researchers on these issues, e.g. G. Small and N. Carr, are referred to and a critical analysis of the Flynn effect is carried out.
