PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ZIGBEE AND LEACH PROTOCOL IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK
Journal Title: International Journal of Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Fundamentals (www.ijeemf.com) - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
A Wireless Sensor network is a collection of wireless sensor nodes that are capable of communicating with each other without the use of a network infrastructure or any centralized administration. The wireless nodes perform both as a host and a router forwarding packets to other nodes. Routing in these networks is highly complex. Due to moving nodes, many protocols have been developed. Performance of each protocol is depending on their working in different conditions. This paper describes some special characteristics of wireless routing protocols Zigbee and Leach. It also presents their performance and comparative study. Evaluation is based on simulation results of above mentioned protocol in NS-2 Simulator.
