PERSONAL ARCHIVES IN THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF THE ODESSA I. I. MECHNIKOV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of personal archives of the Scientific Library of the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University. During its 200-year history, the Scientific Library has collected numerous book treasures in its repositories, including old and rare editions, personal book collections as well as documentary complexes, which reflects the history of the University and of Ukrainian science in a whole. In recent decades, special attention has been paid to collections personal of documents who given by their owners to the University library in order to systematize the archival mentioned documentary complex. Personal archives of the University library contain a variety of documents including drafts, biographical information, and papers of official and public activities, correspondence of teaching staff and employees of various branches. The purpose of this publication is to display and popularize the archive collections of the Scientific Library. The article presents general information about the personal archives of teaching University staff that can be regarded as a valuable source for researchers.
