Abstract
Famous religious figure of the Russian Orthodox Church in the second half of the twentieth century – the Mitropolitan of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas Nikolai (Kutepov) (1924-2001) began his Episcopal Ministry in Mukachevo and Uzhgorod diocese in 1961. For two years of his Ministry, he sought to correct the liturgical and religious life of the diocese in accordance with the canonical rules of the Church. He took different foreign delegations in the diocese of Mukachevo, particularly from the USA and has participated in Church-wide events. In October 1961, he participated in the reception in the USSR of the Serbian Patriarch Germanos (Coric).
