Abstract
Publicistic materials about the history of life and activities of Archimandrite Alexy (Kabalyuk) and the history of the Church in Rakhiv District, which were published in the newspaper “Zorya Rakhivshchyny”, are analyzed in this article. The research is based on the articles from 1991 to 2016. The influence of Soviet ideology on local history is studied. Popular science reconnaissances of the history of religion are generalized.
