Phraseological unit modifications in English literary modernism texts

Abstract
The article has been devoted to one of the forms of realization of linguistic variation phenomenon, specifically, lexical phraseological modifications, and also their stylistic role in the texts of English literary modernism. Due to phraseological variants a particular evocative effect is achieved and a new form of impacts on the reader is being created, what characterizes this literary style. Author’s phraseological unit modifications play a significant role in the creation of English literary modernism text imagery.
