PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN DETECTIVE GENRE (ON THE BASIS OF THE DETECTIVE STORIES OF A. CHRISTIE)

Abstract
The given article presents the analysis of the existing classifications of phraseological units that were developed by outstanding linguists. The peculiarities of phraseological units that allow identifying them are clearly determined. Moreover, the quantitative analysis of phraseological units has been carried out on the basis of V. Vinogradov’s classification. The offered classification of phraseological units is developed according to the principle of thematic grouping which makes it possible to single out 8 groups of phraseological units. The corpus of data analysed has excluded phraseological fusions due to semantic inseparability of their components.
