Physico-chemical research of active pharmaceutical ingredients in soft dosage form with the antiviral effect

Abstract
Topicality. Treatment of diseases caused by viruses is one of the topical problems of modern medicine and health care in general. Therefore, today the important task of pharmaceutical and medical science is the creation of new antiviral drugs of domestic production. Aim. To study physico-chemical characteristics of miramistin and acyclovir. Materials and methods. The objects of the study were such substances as miramistin and acyclovir. The study of solubility, fractional composition and microscopy were carried out according to methods of the state Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine. Results and discussion. The obtained results of the miramistin powder solubility showed its solubility in most solvents; the size of the particles is 0.01-3.5 microns; uniform distribution of particles can be traced in purified water, ethanol 96 % and PEO-400; the main part of the powder is 0.3 mm in size. It has been established that acyclovir substance is very soluble in most solvents; the particle size ranges from 0.3 to 1.3 microns; uniform particle distribution is observed in corn oil, purified water and PG; the main fraction of the acyclovir powder is agglomerates of 0.2 mm particles. Conclusions. The physico-chemical research of the substances miramistin and acyclovir in soft dosage form with the antiviral activity were conducted.
