Physio- Phytochemical screening and Diuretic activity of leaves of Pavetta indica Linn

Abstract
Pavetta indica Linn is used in the traditional medicine for many diseases.In the present study, the diuretic activity of Petroleum ether and Methanol extract of leaves of Pavetta indica was studied and the activity was compared with furosemide as standard.All the extracts exhibited significant diuretic activity as evidenced by increased total urine volume and the urine concentration of Na +, K + and Cl . -The results thus support the use of Pavetta indica as diuretic agent. The preliminary phyto chemical investigations were also be studied
