Abstract

The written here report examines an up-to-date problem connected to pictorial art education of Roma students in the general secondary school/high school . The problem is relatively new and insufficiently investigated, it provokes interest in а new research and bringing out to a theory. The aim is to establish knowledges and skills of Roma students in 7th grade to picture a landscape. Object of the study are: the trainees/ the students/ and the results of their pictorial action, with the subject – matter - flat-decorative and volumetric-spatial construction. And the Hypothesis - the assumption that students will do better with the flat decorative construction than with the volumetric-spatial construction. Methods of the research are: theoretical analysis of literary sources, observation, artistic-pedagogical and comparative analysis of pictorial results. The experiment includes two themes for the given lessons which problems represent the principles of shaping: "Landscape - flat-decorative construction" and "Landscape - volume-space construction". The volume - spatial principle gets attention to the perspective facts in the landscape (linear and aerial perspective) and face us a new problem in the curriculum. Based on the principles, criteria and indicators ,new object of evaluation are being developed . As a result, the hypothesis of a more successful reconstruction of the landscape through flat decorative construction is demonstrated, and the evidence is - the achievements and the analysis of the results. The reflection of the linear perspective in the spatial dimension creates difficulties, and the need of help of the teacher. The study of the prospective facts forms knowledges and skills for plotting objects, for their alteration and reduction in depth, which is amplified by the tonality enrichment to reproduce the spatial characteristics. The experience shows that with doing more exercise and purposeful pedagogical activity the difficulties are overwhelmt. As a result, Roma students' desire building the space decorative construction, with a clear prefer in contrasting and intense colors.
