PLANT NAMES FORMED BY USING NAMES OF BLACK AND WHITE COLOR IN KAZAKH TURKISH

Abstract
Colors are an important part of human life and color names are used in all areas. Nomenclatures expressing especially black and white colors exist in every language and culture and these colors also represent special meanings. The color names which are important in vocabulary are very rich also in Kazakh Turkish. The use of color names is common in plant names as it is in every area. Plants are of great importance in culture and human life, and for this reason, their names are frequently mentioned in written works. This work has been prepared in order to determine the ways by which the colors of black and white are used in the formation of plant names and to reveal the plant name vocabulary. The annotated dictionary study, Ösimdik Atavlarının Tüsindirme Sözdigi, prepared by B. Kaliyev in 2012, is the basis for the research. This study was prepared through scanning method and after that plant names which are formed by using the names of color and in the scanned work were determined. Next, the vocabulary of the plant names was evaluated and the words in the plant names formed by the names of the black and white color were classified and the plant names which were formed in Kazakh Turkish through using the names of black and white color were identified. Russian and Turkish equivalents of the plant names that were mentioned in the study were also included and at the same time the significance of names of black and white colors in Turkish culture was also mentioned. It is hoped that the uncovering of the plant names vocabulary will contribute to the work to be done in the field of linguistics.
