Pleiotropic effects of hypolipemic drugs 2006

Abstract
Recent data confirm the positive role of hipolipemic drugs beyond cholesterol levels reduction (pleiotropic effects) in patients with cerebrovascular diseases as well as with chronic inflammatory states. This article presents newest data on pleiotropicactions of two classes of hipolipemic drugs: statins and fibrates derived mostly from randomized clinical trials.
