Podmiotowość pracowników sektora usług seksualnych w kontekście debaty wokół statusu pornografii

Journal Title: Naukowy Przegląd Dziennikarski - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 4

Abstract

In this paper I discuss the issue of pornography. More precisely I confront the opinions issued by two conservative feminists, Andrea Dworkin and Catharine MacKinnon who advocate delegalisation of pornography with the opinions of the sex workers organisations who fight for the legalisation of the prostitution and respect for those who work as sex workers, including porno actors and models. The latter fight as well for the change in the image of that professional group in the mass media, focusing on the need of giving up the attitude of moral contempt or paternalism towards sex workers. In the paper I try to reconstruct the moral argumentation which is used by each part of the debate . I also reflect upon the role that the ethics may play in a society defined by axiological pliuralism.
