Podporządkowanie / posłuszeństwo żon(y) wobec męża – wymóg religijny czy kulturowy?

Abstract
Obrzędy sakramentu małżeństwa przeszły przez skomplikowaną ewolucję i w różnych tradycjach liturgicznych przejawiają dużą różnorodność. Specyficznym elementem stało się w nich ślubowanie posłuszeństwa wobec męża przez żonę, niekiedy zastąpione modlitwami, w których podporządkowanie kobiety jest bardzo wyraźnie widoczne. W czasach współczesnych w obrzędach wielu konfesji element ten został zlikwidowany, również ze względu na współczesną wrażliwość antropologiczną i społeczną, domagającą się równego traktowania kobiet i mężczyzn. Artykuł stara się, na podstawie analizy tekstów obrzędów ślubnych w różnych denominacjach chrześcijańskich, a także porównania z sytuacją w wybranych starożytnych cywilizacjach i religiach, wyśledzić, czy jest możliwe danie odpowiedzi na pytanie o religijny bądź kulturowy charakter ukazywania podporządkowanej roli kobiet wobec mężczyzn, tak często podkreślanej do niedawna w ramach obrzędów ślubnych.
