Podziały interwałów przy użyciu metod geometrii wykreślnej oraz systemu mechanicznego w traktatach „Le Istitutioni Harmoniche” oraz „Sopplimenti Musicali” Gioseffo Zarlino

Abstract
Artykuł przedstawia podstawową dla szesnastowiecznej teorii i praktyki wykonawczej problematykę podziału interwałów, która została przedstawiona w traktatach Le institutioni harmoniche oraz Sopplimenti musicali G. Zarlino (1517-1590). To kluczowe zagadnienie teoretyk opracował na podstawie swoich obserwacji, a także matematyki Euklidesa, mechanicznego mesolabium Erastothenesa, metody Philo z Bizancjum oraz połączenia metody mechanicznej z wykreślną. W wymienionych traktatach Zarlino porusza m.in. zagadnienie dotyczące wyznaczania interwałów temperowanych. Są one wynikiem podziału wybranego konsonansu i według autora powinny być jednakowe, tzn. pomniejszone lub powiększone o tę samą wartość. W tym ujęciu podział interwału na równe części matematycznie jest tożsamy z wyznaczeniem średniej geometrycznej. Odcinki, które uzyskujemy, stosując metody matematyczne, przekładane są następnie na długości strun monochordu. Spostrzeżenia poczynione przez włoskiego teoretyka dały początek nauce o strojeniu instrumentów, będącej kompromisem między zasadami harmonii i estetyki.<br/><br/>
