POETIC HISTORY OF SAMIYLYCHI VILLAGE IN H. YASTRUBETSKA’S COLLECTION OF POETRY «POLISIA PILGRIM»: THE SPACE OF INDIVIDUAL MEMORY AS A LITERARY TEXT

Abstract
The article deals with the analysis of the collection of poetry «Polissian Pilgrim» (Lutsk, 2011) by H. Yastrubetska. Rustical discourse in modern literature is more and more realized as one among the motifs of lost idyll associated with reminiscences of the childhood. Poetry collection «Polissia Pilgrim» is the striking example of such a text. The keynote of the collection is the motif of national memory as an individual one. Volyn Polissia of late 1960–1970-s, namely Samiylychi village Shatsk Rayon, Volyn is an object of author’s poetic interpretation. The author depicts local time and space of her private recollection about «small motherland». She creates literary images of villagers and the images of Volyn Polissia natural world. The author reproduces relative poetic hierarchy of the Polissia universe in six parts-dedications of the collection «To My Parents and Village», «To the White Cottage and a Titmouse», «To Waters and Rain», «To Trees», «To Paths and Roads», «To Flowers, Grasses and Birds». The leitmotif of homesickness, which runs through the collection, is based on the opposition of the idyllic picture of the past and the profane present. Certain poetic elements of the collection have been analyzed. The specific feature of H. Yastrubetska’s individual writing style is the creation of fuzzy boundaries between such categories as «author» – «author’s image» – «persona / narrator». As a real author, H. Yastrubetska deliberately emphasizes own «absolute» presence in the text. This is also facilitated by means of paratextual elements of the collection. The author makes use of pasticcio to the folklore speech and genres, i. e. lyrical family-everyday songs, incantations, anecdotes, and fairy-tales.
