Poetics of the fantastic in Dimitrije Demeter’s prose

Abstract
In this article I tried to define fantastical elements in the prose of Croatian romanticist writer, a representative of Croatian National Revival Movement Dimitrije Demeter based on the “Father and Son” novella taken as an example. I also tried to analyze mythological way of creating main characters and estimate the potential of folklore fantastic in the first half of XIX century prose.
