Political experts and the media

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to investigate the essence of relations between political experts and the media. The task of the article is to analyze the information function performed by mass media, to substantiate the role of the institute of political experts as one of the most important subjects of media policy. It is concluded that political experts have become one of the most important subjects of media policy, which, on the one hand, provides citizens with the necessary political knowledge and information, on the other hand, it manipulates them. As a result, citizens’ confidence in the political system and politicians decreases and the level of aspiration for alternative ways of political participation increases.
