Political participation of women in a city of Peru

Journal Title: Prohominum - Year 2024, Vol 6, Issue 3

Abstract

The research pursued the objective of knowing the factors that condition the significant intervention of women in political activity, due to noting their reduced role, particularly in the City of Arequipa, in Peru, when compared to that in charge of men. The investigation has involved a population of 45 women, which is the total number of authorities who currently participate actively in politics and hold political positions in Metropolitan Arequipa, to whom a duly validated and reliable face-to-face surveywas applied; Because it is a numerically small population, the study sample was equivalent to it. In this multivariate study, the data obtained was subjected to factorial analysis, the result of which made it possible to isolate four factors that determine women's political participation; These levels are: educational (explained by 21,916% of respondents), sociocultural (explained by 18,417%), socioeconomic (explained by 16,026%) and sociopolitical (explained by 14,392%). The content of the study conforms to research standards and copyrights have been respected
