Autor, historyk, obserwując dynamikę wydarzeń związanych z prezydencko-parlamentarnymi wyborami w 2015 r., analizuje wypowiedzi polityków dotyczące przestrzeni polityki, gospodarki, państwa, Konstytucji i ustroju. Na tym tle snuje refleksje odnoszące się wolności badań naukowych, a także edukacji historycznej i tzw. polityki historycznej.
