Polityka przemysłowa i przemysł w Polsce w okresie Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej i III RP

Abstract
The article gives an overview of industrial policy. Types and capabilities of its activity, in theory and in practice, are shown on the example of the industrial policy implemented in Poland since 1945, as well as in relation to the latest industrial plans such as "Industrial Policy 2015-2020 +" or so-called "Plan Morawiecki". The period of PRL, systemic and economic transformation, the Polish accession to the European Union and the latest industrial policy plans are discussed. The author indicates strengths and weaknesses of the industry and the impact of economic policies on urbanization during the Polish communist era. As a result of thorough analysis the conclusions on the state of industry in Poland are drawn. Industry has had a great impact on the development and urbanization of our country which contributed to the significant demographic changes and as a result number of people living in rural areas decreased significantly in favor of the city. The 90s of XX century brought irreversible consequences in our economy which is experienced to this day. Polish accession to the European Union has opened our market to other countries; export increased significantly, giving tangible support to Polish companies. In conclusion, the author analyzes the current situation of industrial policy in Poland, describes the restructuring plans and potential to improve the quality of industry, introduced in 2015 and 2016.
