Abstract

Abstract The origins of Comenius pedagogy date back to the second half of the 17th century. The right scientific reception started in the 19th century and at that time the interest in the predominant problem – the textbooks of Comenius – declined and increased with respect to his pedagogical thought. In post-war Poland the most profound researches on his doctrine were developed at the Polish Academy of Sciences and with the change of the system other research centers – especially the region of Siedlce and Leszno – came together. Reception of Comenius pedagogy in Poland is very complex, multithreaded, based on analysis of sources and publications of bio-doxography.
