Abstract
The aim of the paper is to describe the procedure in the case of delivery at an emergency department. The author attempts to gather and present all current guidelines and standards concerning childbirth in the ER setting. The article concludes with the author’s findings on the current level of readiness of the emergency medical system to assist a patient giving birth. Only physiologically natural delivery, with no complications or pathologies, is considered by the author.
