PREPARATION OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING TEACHER OF PHYSICS: PROBLEMS OF INTEGRATION OF PROFESSIONAL AND LINGUAL EDUCATION

Abstract
Despite the reforms in Ukrainian education, the education system itself remains very inert. This is due to its structure which includes large numbers of people, accumulated fund of textbooks, equipment and teaching methods. Massive reform of the educational sector will not take place without changing the status, education and views of teachers. The modern direction in reforming secondary and higher education is the transition to teaching subjects in English, since the most important task of modern teacher is to help the student to fi nd, analyse the necessary information, including information in another language. The training of English-speaking teachers of physics is an important task for institutes of higher pedagogical education, related with the introduction of new methods that are widespread in world education. Among the advanced methods of integrated study of English and professional subjects, researchers distinguish methods of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). Research shows that learning by this method provides opportunities for meaningful interaction and active learning, the development of students’ scientifi c ideas and concepts, use communication and literacy skills, the formation of professional and linguistic competence as the basis of the professional world view of physics teacher.
