Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Pathology - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Ameloblastomas are locally aggressive jaw tumors with high propensity for recurrence. The estimated incidence of ameloblastoma is approximately 0.5 per million populations per year. We present a case of 40 years male with complaints of right sided nasal obstruction and nasal discharge since 1 year. Rhinoscopic examination revealed pinkish mass in the right nostril with nasal septum deviation towards left side. Computed tomographic (CT) scan of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses demonstrated post contrast enchancing soft tissue density lesion seen in right maxillary sinus extending to right nasal cavity. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) was done and removed mass sent for histopathological examination where diagnosis of sinonasal ameloblastoma done.
