Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Політологія" - Year 2017, Vol 309, Issue 297

Abstract

The normal functioning of any political party demands the highlighting of continuous flow of information about the activities of the organization. It guides each person and keeps it in a state of informational saturation. Only the permanent informational com-munication between the party and external environment allows a potential voter and an average citizen to think productively, to act purposefully, and to feel confident. Such stream is provided by the party media. Their role in society is the following: not only to provide coverage of own programmatic ideas and decisions, but to regulate relations between citizens and state power, to affect the course of events and people‟s lives, and to satisfy the whole system of social diverse interests. Moreover, party mass media guarantee political and social stability, express the masses‟ mood and actively participate in shaping public opinion on all relevant issues. Therefore, the current study of the theoretical aspect of party media activity is significant and progressive, given the dynamic nature of the contemporary political parties‟ development. The purpose of the study includes considering the core theoretical aspects of printed party media, analyzing the printed party publications‟ value for communication of the political party with society, outlining the key issues and reasons that hinder the devel-opment of printed party press. Methodology. The author used in the scopes of research such scientific methods as observation, comparison, analysis, induction and deduction, modeling, system and structural activity approaches. Conclusions. Printed party media play a substantial role in communicating with society. Despite the growth of modern electronic forms of interaction with voters (the creation of the political parties‟ official sites or communication through social networks), the printed party press remains a stable link of connection with society, since it is designed for all age categories of citizens, provides vivid illustrations (images), which are nice to be taken, observed, discussed, and analyzed. Results of the research. The author consider that the successful functioning of printed party media extremely demands the fruitful work in selecting information and the creation of new sections in newspapers to cover not only the political parties‟ activities, but to indicate the existing problems in society and to suggest ways to solve them. There is also a need for recruiting reputable scholars, qualified experts and analysts, who can give an assessment of political phenomena and processes, not only in terms of «necessary» for the party ideology implementation, but in frames of objective highlighting the political party‟s social role.
