Abstract
In 20s of the XIXth century Kvitka-Osnovyanenko gives a very strange for that time genre determination to his works («Deadman-misbehavourer», a joke in 2 actions, and «Battle woman», a joke-vaudeville). Let’s try to prove that genre determination «a joke» isn’t a occasional, and it shows a certain author’s message, which is based on a stereotypical vaudeville cliché jolly.
