Abstract
У статті розкриваються тенденції і підходи українських науковців до розробки періодизації та реконструкції історичної ретроспективи розвитку іншомовної освіти у країнах Європи і США. З’ясовано загальні науково-методологічні підходи і критерії розробки періодизації історико-педагогічного процесу. На основі аналізу репрезентативних комплексних досліджень показано, що розв’язання цих проблем стало важливим компонентом, який визначає загальні вектори побудови студій з означеної тематики.
