Problems and prospects of adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine.

Abstract
The article deals with the problems and prospects of the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine. It is stated that the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine is one of the main directions of improving the domestic electoral legis- lation, which is today quite branched and somewhat unbalanced. Adoption of the Electoral Code will unify the main electoral procedures, harmonize the electoral legislation of Ukraine and make it more accessible and understandable. It is concluded that the haste and excessive politicization of the process of adopting the Electoral Code of Ukraine can dampen all its positive achievements and turn it into another electoral law, which was approved for a particular type of election. In favor of the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine in the domestic legal science, the following arguments are given: 1) the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine will contribute to the consolidation of a single legislative act of various electoral laws, which will give the national electoral legislation a much greater sys- temic and orderly nature; 2) the codification of the electoral law will unify the principles of electoral law common to all types of elections, the principles of the electoral process, the procedure for calculating terms and the procedure for the implementation of many election procedures; 3) the electoral code as evidenced by the direct experience of implementing various types of legislative acts is a more convenient form for practical application and use than a number of different electoral laws; 4) the election rules defined in the Electoral Code are more accessible and understandable to voters, members of election commissions and other subjects of the electoral process due to their combination in one legislative act; 5) the codification of the electoral legislation will avoid during the regula- tion of similar social relations, which are connected with the preparation and holding of various types of elections in Ukraine, duplication, the emergence of gaps and collisions; 6) the adoption of the Electoral Code of Ukraine is a step towards the approximation of domestic electoral legislation to European election standards and is in line with the pan-European tendency in which more democratic countries regulate electoral relations with the Electoral Code.
