Problems and Prospects of the Development of Museology in Ukraine

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze problems and difficulties in the development of museum affairs in Ukraine, and to define the prospects of the future Ukrainian museum studies. We argue that there are urgent problems in the field of Ukrainian museum studies: unsatisfactory condition of museums, as well as exhibitions and conditions of the preservation of exhibited items; insufficient financing of museums, etc. We have also examined positive changes in this field and creation of prerequisites for the innovative changes in the museum work.
