Problems of legislative regulation of private detective activity in Ukraine at the present stage

Abstract

It is determined that private detective activity in law-enforcement practice at the present stage of formation of Ukraine as a European state is one of the tasks, the solution of which will promote the realization of human rights to life, health and integrity, protection of its legal rights and interests, and personal life. The present state of the legal regulation of private detective (search) activity in Ukraine is investigated, the stages and current state of the Law of Ukraine "On Private (Investigating) Activity" are considered. It was clarified that on April 13, 2017, the Law of Ukraine "On Private Detective (Investigation) Activity" was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada as a whole and on May 3, 2017, it was signed by the Head of the Verkhovna Rada and signed for signature by the President of Ukraine. The amendments and proposals of the President of Ukraine concerning certain provisions of this Law have been analyzed and how the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement activities has agreed on the provisions of this draft law with the norms of legislative acts that are basic in the respective spheres of legal regulation. The author gives his own vision of the problem and outlines the main ways of improving the modern national legislation in the field of private detective activity in Ukraine.
