Produsul Intern Brut - indicator relevant pentru comparaţii statistice la nivel naţional/regional şi internaţional

Abstract
Toate ţările membre ale Uniunii Europene au adoptat treptat şi au armonizat lucrările pentru a respecta directivele Sistemului European de Conturi (SEC), cu versiunea din 1995, înlocuind versiunea din 1979. A fost asigurată comparabilitatea metodologică necesară indicatorilor regionali, în vederea ierarhizărilor teritoriale intracomunitare. SEC este identic cu Sistemul Conturilor Naţionale din România (SCN) ca tip de algoritm complex de contabilitate, statistică şi analiză macroeconomică fi ind utilizat ca instrument defi nitoriu pentru rezultatele economice dar şi ca ţintă majoră decizională în sintezele economice ale ţărilor cu economie de piaţă, în statisticile ONU precum şi în cele ale altor organisme internaţionale.
