PROFESSIONAL AND PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCY OF MODERN TEACHER AS A SUBJECT OF A SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Abstract
New trends in the economic, socio-political, spiritual and cultural life of Ukraine, its integration into the European and world educational space put fundamentally new demands on the national education system, in particular, to the teacher of a higher educational institution. They have caused significant changes in the goals, content and outcomes of the functioning of higher education, focusing it on the preparation of a new generation of specialists who are character- ized by creative initiative, competitiveness and mobility in order to meet personal, educational and professional needs, increase the general scientific, general cultural and professional levels of scientific and pedagogical the introduction of new pedagogical concepts, modern teaching technologies into the educational process. The article deals with the formation of the professional pedagogical competence of the modern teacher of higher education institution, which is the main indicator of the professional development of each teacher. The analysis of theo- retical researches concerning the professional-pedagogical competence of the modern teacher is conducted, its ways of formation are determined, and certain criteria and indicators of formation are specified. It has been established that the professional and pedagogical competence of a modern teacher of a higher education institution is realized only in the organic unity of the three components of their professional training of this educational process, extra-curricular process and self-development and in many cases determined by the specifics of the professional activity performed. The study of the process of formation of vocational and pedagogical competence of modern teachers of institutions of higher education is due to the need for its theoretical understanding and the need to find ways to solve it. It should be noted that the formation of vocational and pedagogical competence of modern teachers in Ukraine is largely due to the theoretical understanding of this phenomenon of professionalism of pedagogical staff. The theoretical level defines a complex system of initial parameters, definitions, theoretical bases, without which it is impossible to realize to a certain extent the process of formation of vocational and pedagogical competence of modern teachers of institutions of higher education of the state.
